In 2004 John McLion (biography), together with Paul Boekhout, undertook an extensive trip through Russia by train. McLion's photo's and travel notes from this journey were brought out as a book (Transsiberië & Kamtsjatka) which was later nominated the honorary title of the Best Travel Book 2006 by the Dutch Association of Travel Publishers.
