Unmarked magazine rack (in German: Zeitungsständer, in Dutch: lectuurbak, krantenhouder of tijdschriftenrek). This magazine rack is special, since it combines black steel plates, a chrome steel tube and a black wooden board. Based on its design, patina, and composition, it may be attributed to Marcel Breuer (1902-1981) or Mart Stam (1899-1986).

Mart Stam was the first to create a tubular steel chair in 1926 and worked for the Van Nellefabriek in Rotterdam (1926-1928) and from 1934 to 1948 he was director of the Institute for Applied Arts Education (later: Rietveld Academy).

Between 1925-1928 Marcel Breuer was involved in furnishing and furniture design for the Masters' Houses and other school buildings of the new Bauhaus complex in Dessau. In April 1928, Breuer left the Bauhaus together with Walter Gropius. He opened an architecture office in Berlin. In this period he was mainly active as a furniture designer and interior designer. Marcel Breuer left Germany in 1935 and settled as an architect in London.

In 1935, Dutch designer Gispen introduced the 1022 model, which still can be bought nowadays. That famous model has a rounded handle.
The object for sale is not only designed, but also made earlier, between 1926-1935.
